He challenged Feiwong but failed. He lost an eye in the fight and became a captative for years. When he lost his bond with Sakura, he went into a rage and broke free of his prison, killing Feiwong and minions in his wake with dark magic that's now tattooed across his arms.
He's since found Sakura, and she split the Clow deck up so that he has the Moon cards.
